Why the Megaformer Rocks

My love for dance and fitness began at a very young age. I can remember the day my neighborhood friend came skipping down the block bragging she could do a cartwheel and a split. At that moment, I could not, but within a few days I could do them both and more!! I was in LOVE. Not realizing that this was the beginning of my long fitness career ahead.

This passion evolved to medals as a gymnast as well as dancing professionally around the world! As I am sure you know, lessons do not come cheap. My passion was greater than the funds my family was able to provide but that did not stop me. I would volunteer to teach, coach or even assist another trainer in order to pay my way. Unbeknownst to me, this would be the best teacher training I could ever receive.

About 14 years ago, I took a Pole Dancing Class in NYC. Suddenly, I was ordering 10 poles and teaching Pole Fitness Classes at multiple dance studios on Long Island. Give me music and mirrors and I will give you a CLASS!! I did this successfully for almost 11 years.

One day while teaching a Pole Class, I was asked if I had heard of Lagree Fitness. I did not, but you know I was about to find out. I would really like to say it was love at first for me, however it was not. The thought of working out on a machine was not appealing but I was willing to give it a shot. And here I am.

The beauty of the Lagree Method is that the work out actually flows like a dance. Each move transitions seamlessly into the next without stopping. Flexibility is improved by lengthening muscle. Each class packs in 50 minutes of uninterrupted physical exertion which basically means you sweat A LOT! The workout promotes fat loss and lean muscle growth. A strong mind makes for an even stronger body. The workout not only changes your body but will impact your life in such a positive way. Each workout is accompanied by high energy, fun and upbeat music. A full body, low impact (which basically means you can do the class even if you have pre-existing injuries), high intensity, muscle quivering workout that is choreographed like a dance, performed to music in a hot pink studio with mirrors! To sum it up, one megaformer class is equivalent to a yoga class (stretch), spin class (cardio), cross fit (weight training)….. etc. Multiple classes wrapped into one. There is a saying that goes, “you do not need more time, you need more intensity”. A dream come true!
I didn’t mention my love for PINK prior to this, but take one step into my Catwalk Fitness Studio and it will become quite obvious.

All kidding aside, my dream was to one day have my very own fitness studio and spread the love of fitness to all. Landing in Old Greenwich and getting the opportunity to train with the people in this town (and surrounding areas) has been a complete delight. My doors just opened this past August and every day I continue to meet the sweetest, most dedicated, committed and hard working women and men (even teens). Everyone has been so supportive and helpful. I feel as though Catwalk has its own personal cheer leading team behind it. I will give you a workout that will challenge you every time. What I will never do, is make you feel defeated. There is always a modification to an exercise. This workout is intense and on a range of 1-10 (10 being the hardest) you might say it’s an 11. But I am committed to make everyone feel the burn and get the benefits without ever feeling crushed.
